Spiritual Direction is an ancient practice...

A spiritual director fosters safe space and sacred time...offering prayer, reflection and guidance to assist you in your journey toward God. You will learn a variety of spiritual practices to help you practice daily encounters with the spirit.  A knowledgeable director can help you see how Holy Scripture offers grist and guidance, trustworthy encouragement and light for the journey.

Debra Donnelly-Barton is the director of the Center. Her academic work is listed on the "A Beginning" page. As a part of her own spiritual development she has a director, has done the 40 day Ignatian Exercises at Loyola House in Guelph, Ontario and taken the Centering Prayer Intensive with Father Keating at St. Benedict's Monastery in Snowmass, Colorado.

Barton has been in private practice for over 20 years, leading retreats, offering workshops and providing spiritual direction for clients.

We offer spiritual direction at our Chestertown location, through two seminaries and on-line, using Skype or phone.

Sessions -online and onsite- are $60 each and last a little over an hour. Want to discover more?

Spiritual direction is for me an experience of mystery and grace. It is a space into which I enter without expectations, but with wonder; a space from which I leave with a feeling of discovery and companionship.
